What I Believe
I believe in poetry. I'm not sure how much of this is poetry, I wasn't there. But sometimes for us to see a profound truth we need to add the profound to the truth.
I believe that in more chaotic days, men had the audience of God, maker of all that can be seen or felt, and they asked for a king.
I believe that God lifted up a king who desired goodness. He wanted to build a great temple to honor the maker of the world and one true God, and He was denied. Eventually, a temple would be made, but the promise he got instead was that out of his house would be born a ruler whose throne would be eternal. Someone born of men that even God trusted with His beloved children.
I believe the annointed king-to-be, spoken of in prophesy, came, and gave us some understanding of his reign. I believe the single most important command from our king was to take care of those in need.
I believe He earned my devotion, because I've been in need, and it... I've cried a lot writing this, but it was very hard. And if taking care of those in need is the first priority, there is nothing I would not do for Him.
